Sebastian Herkner is a talented designer and the founder of Sebastian Herkner Studio. He graduated from the Product Design Department at HfG Offenbach University of Art and Design. He focused on furniture design during his studies, which helped him develop a keen sensitivity to materials, color combinations, and textures.
After completing his education, the designer worked at the Stella McCartney brand in London for a while. In 2006, Sebastian established his studio and has since created furniture, lighting fixtures, and various interior objects for renowned manufacturers such as And Tradition, Cappellini, ClassiCon, Davis Furniture, Dedon, Duravit, Fontana Arte, Fritz Hansen, Gubi, Janus et Cie, Moroso, Poltrona Frau, Rosenthal, Thonet, Wittmann, and Zanotta. The visual language of his work combines influences from traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design, giving it a unique character.
Sebastian loves working with glass and integrating this material with metal. In this vein, he developed the Bell glass tables with brass elements, which received the Red Dot Design Award in 2010, and stylish steel-made Passerelle shelves.
